Don't read this review if you don’t have an X-Box 360, if your PC doesn’t have a DVD drive, if you can’t afford a copy of the game, if you have last month’s video card or if you don’t have hundreds of hours to devote to the game. It will only make you hate me more and increase the feeling of inadequacy you’ve had since the game came out.
I’m going to keep this short and sweet because anyone who isn’t aware of how great this game is by now must be living under a rock without electricity or, god forbid, broadband. If Oblivion doesn’t win every game of the year award I will be very surprised, especially since I’m relatively sure there will be no Halo or GTA games until ’07.
As in parts I and II the only complaint I have with this game is the l o n g l o a d t i m e s. I’ve heard that the PC version doesn’t suffer quite as bad as the 360 and that the modding community is already doing amazing things with this game, so PC may be a better choice, but in the end, it doesn’t matter what you play Oblivion on, as long as you play it. After 139 hours playing this game, I have to admit, I wish I was home playing it right now. What else can you ask for in a game?
I’m giving Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion a 10
