Wasted ScreenShots
Posted: Friday, April 23, 2004 10:55 AM (EST)

Have you posted something in the screen shots section only to come back the next day and find it's not there? So you come back again the next day and still not there? Next week? ok... you get the picture.

This is what happens when you post a screenshot that is not in .jpg (jpeg) format. The Server WON'T except anything but a .jpg file, it will let you send it in, but it won't ever display it. So I am forced to Delete them permanantly!

Bottom line is if you want to put up a ScreenShot ( we would love to see them!) you must first convert them to .jpg Format. How do you do this you ask?

Simple! follow these easy step to convert your .bmp files into your very own .jpg's.

  1. Open the picture to be converted in your favorite Graphics Editing program. Such as Adobe Photoshop, Image Ready, Paint Shop Pro, Paint and many others.
  2. Then Select "Save as..." In the following dialog box that pops up, change the file type to JPEG (.jpg) and if it ask you for a "Quality" setting choose something near the top like 8 on a scale of 1 - 10), name the file appropriately then save it.

You should then be able to successfully upload you ScreenShots!!

Please Note: Paint that is included with older versions of windows will not let you save as jpg type. You will need a third party conversion utilty or Graphics program.

just a suggestion, why not disply something like: "JPEGs ONLY!" in each of the categories... or when you click upload (probably have there, didn't check) make it in huge like 2000000pxl text that's like flashing pink and lime green... :-) haha anyways... later
