Earlier tonight I was playing on this server: Kansas City Warzone [AiF]-KCWarzone.com (69.65.31.24:27015).. I was 15-1 on scoutzknivez when I hear one of the clan members say. Check out this hacker.... Next thing I know my name was changed to h4x0r.0wN3d.by.4dMiN and a lot of my configs were messed up. including my hud (I had no crosshairs, no ammo sign, hp, and so on), they also changed my rate to 10 (I lagged a lot), and they changed all of my keyboard binds to "kill", made it so that I couldnt press any buttons( tab for score, esc (to quit)) so I had to control alt delete to close cs. Here's exactly what they did to my config file:

Im not sure if I should report this to steam/ if theyre allowed to do this to players. However, if this ever happens to you. All you have to do is delete your config.cfg (located in your cstrike folder). When you load it again, Steam will download the original file for you. You will also have to change your rate to 25000, your fps_max to 101, and your cmd_rate to 101. So far I havent found any other problems with my cs. We will see if I find anything else wrong. Who knows what they could of messed up.

Wow! Just wow! In the words of a serious gamer "what a bunch of noobs". Seriously. They try to mess up your steam jsut because there to stupid to realize that you arent hacking. I admit that I have abused people, but messing with another person controls and keyboard set-up is a line that I would never cross. Well maybe bind "MOUSE1" "kill", but only for a hacker. As for reporting them to steam goes, I don't see them doing anything if you/we/someone else, did report that server.

Well radio i have to tell u i had this plugin when i had my own sever for my cal-m clan

....sry for the language but the command is amx_fuckoff and it is used for hackers that u want to screw ovr or just a jerk u want off the sever.

so if u thought they where smart doing that there no its just one command that screws u over to the max

Valve won't do anything about this. You'll just have to deal with it, since morons like these always exist.

Set your config to read only. This way those bastards can't make any "permanent" changes to your config. Simply reconnect (or restart CS, I forgot which one) and your config will be restored again.

Keep in mind that if you set your config to read only, you won't be able to make any permanent changes through the options menu(or console for that matter) as well.

Things to do to prevent this from happening to you:

One thing that may prevent this from messing with your config.cfg is to make it read only.

I also strongly recommend backing up all of the .cfg files in your cstrike folder. To accomplish this:

Create a folder in your cstrike folder named backups

Select all of your .cfg files and anything else you want a safe copy of and copy them into this folder. You can also use Winrar to do this. You won't need a new folder if you use winrar..

Create a custom.cfg file for all the changes you want to make to your config and then add the line: "exec custom.cfg" to the end of your config.cfg file.

Only Play on {MC} Paradise Servers! Seriously, we never do anything that harsh to even the worst of hackers! The worst commands we have in our arsenal are: uh... hmmm not sure if I want to tell you!

We need to find out if they have a forum that we can go Rant in. Keep in mind if they thought he was hacking this means that the admin was probably a CS Noob that has never seen a real player... Or they, like some servers I know of just ban good players to keep the server full of nooblets for them to pwn... <end rant/>
